Get your shine on!

If you have glossy wood floors, or would like to, I highly recommend using Quick Shine Floor Finish by Holloway House. (Use it on sealed wood floors).

First, I wet mop my floors with plain water to remove all the spills from the kids. This leaves the floor looking a bit dull, so I use this type of mop and get the towel applicator wet.

I wring it out completely, stretch the applicator over the mop, and then squirt it with the Quick Shine. (Do not squirt this directly on your wood floor, it will leave a mark - ask me how I know).

You can mop a 3x6 foot area before you need to squirt more product on your mop. It doesn't leave streaks, but I do recommend mopping with the grain of the wood floor rather than across it. It dries in about 15 minutes. I like to put on a second coat for the ultimate shine.

I do it about 4 times a year and spot clean in between. It will make your floor look like it was just professionally resealed, and it smells a bit lemony. It's about $4.80 a bottle and you can usually find it on the bottom shelf of your local Walmart.

In our old house we had all hardwood floors. I miss them. Now,we have carpet.

I don't remember seeing product like this for hardwood floors.

Now, I just need to find a friends house with hardwood floors so I can try it out. hee hee!

Sarah - it will keep your floors just as beautiful as they are now.

Foxes - Well, you could always come over here and do my floors - I'm just sayin'...

Can you leave feedback on Holloways continuous use as I have just stopped using orange glo for wood floors as it ruined them after leaving a residue that over time started looking cloudy and dull, I had to remove this on hands and knees for hours with windex and am worried Holloway is going the same way. Last week it looked awesome but now its dull and shows marks and I am loath to use again as heard its hard to remove.

Okay - I love this product, but if I mop between applications with just water - it will look dull and cloudy.

Usually, I mop with water just before reapplying another 2 coats of quick shine. If you absoluteely must mop in between, try using holloway floor cleaner. You dilute it in a sink/bucket of water and it will provide a nice touch up (although not as gorgeous as the quick shine). I've been using it for about 7 years and haven't had to refinish my floors yet. Let me know how you like it.

One more thing - make sure not to squeeze it on your floor directly, but on your floor cloth and put on another coat after the first one dries (30-40 mins). It should last longer that way. Best of luck to you!
