New Music and a recipe...

Edited to add: A favorite cookie recipe, pictures, and more music.

Two bloggy friends, Montserrat and Scribbit, posted favorite cookie recipes lately. It got me thinking about how Ellie hadn't ever had a home-made cookie, so I've baked a few batches since then.

You can find our recipe here, it's the original Snopes "Neiman-Marcus" cookie recipe. The funny thing is a little boy, who we didn't even know, brought this recipe to us. He had a bunch of papers and was going around knocking on doors, telling people they had to try it because it was the best cookie ever.

I think my sis, Sy, was the first one to give it a try and we all agreed, it was pretty dang good. We never add the nuts, because no one would eat them but Mr. Triumph and Grandma. I also like to line my cookie sheets with parchment paper - I find that my cookies are less likely to suffer from the "flatness syndrome" that way. Oh! and The cookies pictured are from halving the recipe. Here's a couple picks to whet your appetite and convince you to try them.

Feel free to scroll to the bottom of the page and check out the music player. In all fairness to Tyler, these are my music picks. You'll have to select a song and click play - I didn't want to startle any of you into a Sunday ER visit.

My tastes are even more divergent than these, but I have kids now and that changes things a bit. I can't believe what I've listened to because I liked the *beat*.

The tunes below should all be kid-friendly (except the last few, but I couldn't help myself - plug in your headphones). Please drop a comment here and let me know your thoughts on the list or if you think there are any titles I should add. I'll post some tidbits about my music pics a little later. Mom: I couldn't find the right version of Guantanamera, but see if you can pick out what's different on this one.

Thanks, the Management

I love the music-

I still listen to things for the *beat* (Chuckle) now I just do it on my IPOD, rather than where everyone else can hear-

I am bad-

I love the snack, lunch bag ideas- that is perfect!

I think we have very similar tastes in music. Some of my favorites can get pretty wild. :D

Are you copying me? :) I just added the smiths to mine last night! I'm digging your list, my friend.
I completely understand now, as a parent, why my mother was so completely mortified by MTV.

Well maybe I'll have to try such a raved-about recipe. Can't go wrong with chocolate chip cookies.

Elizabeth-I'm totally copying you, you have great taste in music.

I'm with you, I get the whole MTV from a parent's view now. But it was a lot less scary when I was a teen than it is now.

Neiman Marcus cookies are pretty good. Neiman Marcus cookie recipe has been around a long time. Kids especially seem to love those cookies. We always put nuts in ours.

Speaking of cookies, I posted the No bake PB Oatmeal cookie recipe on my blog under Kid Pleasers. (also left a response to your question)
I've been chowing down today. I might feel guilty except I'm nursing and figure I need the calories anyway.

I'm always glad when I can find a recipe that makes tons. We seem to always eat at least half the cookie dough and not leave enough for cookies.
