A smoothie that's actually good for you and tastes great!

Somehow, my camera could not quite capture the fruity goodness of the following recipe:

3 c. 100% fruit juice (I used Dole 100% Kiwi Strawberry)
1 apple, quartered (I used a NZ Pacific Rose)
1 banana, peeled
1 c. frozen fruit, no sugar added (blackberries or marionberries turn it purple)
2 handfuls of spinach (I know it sounds ugh!, but trust me, you don't even taste it)

Blend it until there is no recognizable spinach-ness to it. Drink up! It's really good and makes a healthy breakfast. If you have kids that dislike their dark, leafy veggies don't let them see you make it. I promise they'll drink it right up.

If your kids don't care about how green the smoothie looks, frozen tropical fruit is very tasty.

I'm counting this as a GeMoOrgNo post - you know, organizing your fruits and veggies.f Any takers? I want to hear what you think. I suppose you could also add some protein powder, but my kids don't go for that kind of flavor.

I forsure thought that smoothie was delicious. Wouldn't it be nice to have machine that could so easily make them each and every morning for those who don't want the traditional breakfast!!! (you dad could always help make that an affortable Christmas gift for your mother.

Oh, I could try it....The trick is putting the spinach in without getting caught.
I have a recipe for you using the same trick. It's a linguini with basil cream sauce--but it uses 20 oz of frozen peas. :D Interested?
My 4 year old loves it, I do, too. 7 year old and Shazzy both say it could use some meat.....sigh.

I could not even begin to count the number of gallons of green smoothies I've made! Water, spinach, avacado, ground flax seed, oranges, bananas, mango, and strawberries--sometimes we replace the mango with pineapple, or we use different kinds of berries. It makes up at least 75% of my 4 year old's diet. She calls it "babajuice". Yum!

ooo the flax seed sounds very healthful. I've even heard of throwing in a cuke.

Hmmm...I'm going to have to trust you on this one...I'll try it out!

I always add spinach to soup and we can't taste it--maybe this is the same?!!!

I did add it to brownies, as per Deceptively Delicious and it didn't work!!!
