Argyle is not just an 80s phenomenon...

It looks great on babies, too! I just finished knitting a baby sweater vest from the Dale of Norway book 162

Here's a close-up of the argyle. This is knit on size 1 needles (very tiny). It was a fun pattern to knit up. I am definitely making some of the darling girl patterns in that book - hopefully before my youngest grows up.

Here is a view of the inside of the sweater. I haven't finished knitting the facings (I'm not exactly sure how to do those yet) that will cover those lovely maroon stitching lines. This sweater is knit in the round on circular needles with steeks. When you're done, you sew zig-zag lines down either side of the steek and then - gasp! - you cut down the middle. I had a few problems with that on my first vest (the blue one) and have had to mend some loose ends.

This was also my first attempt at knitting a fair isle sweater. I just hope they fit the babies they're intended for.
To see what other people are talking about, head over to The Lazy Organizer's place and check it out.

That looks amazing! How much would you charge for one of those for a 5 year old?

WOW! I know how much work goes into all of this...and steeking! That's something I haven't tried yet. Thanks for showing the inside, too. I'm kind of a knitting geek so I love to see that stuff.

So cute! I love to knit but I hate sewing in the loose ends. Hate it! And I never knit anything that has to fit. Only blankets, scarves and hats for me! Actually I did knit my baby's blessing dress a couple years ago and it turned out shockingly well. I would love to make another one of those dresses.

Wow this is great. I'm afraid I will never be mindful enough to actually knit something... :D

thank you ladies

summer - I suppose it depends on what type of yarn you wnat it made from. Because the needles are so tiny, it needs to be a baby yarn. These were made froma pricey acrylic, but would look best in a wool or cotton blend (pricier).

I'd also need measurements to see if I could adjust the pattern. Glad you like it.

Wow!! That's amazing. Great work! I don't find knitting to my liking, but I'm trying to learn it anyway. I always manage to drop a stitch and can't figure out how to get it back!

I think it looks quite classy. Now if I only knew how to knit or be somewhat domestic like Martha Stewart!
