Drumroll please..........

I think the doctor's office really had no intention of ever calling me. I called yesterday, no response.

I called today, and was a little bit ornery - but not overly so. The doctor finally called me at 10:00-ish and told me that if I was going to yell at anyone, it should be her.

She'd had to rush home because her husband is doing chemo treatments (just to clarify, I didn't yell, but I informed them that it was unkind to leave me hanging), it almost made me feel like I was two inches tall.

But through the course of our conversation, I realized she really didn't have any idea of what she had ordered for me so far. She had me mixed up with someone else or with her usual treatment protocol.

Anyway, the results (in which I am not confident at all) are that my scan was clear and I have a very low thyroglobulin count (so mostly no cancer?). But try as I might, I couldn't get her to tell me my antibody count. I know this is all mind-numbing medical speak, but I am definitely seeking a second opinion.

Her closing comment to me?

"Oh! You're hypo, that's why you're so crabby. Go take some medicine."

(That means Athena was closest - Happy Birthday! Thanks for playing).

This pissed me off.
Maybe she is HYPO.

Pick up a chart and open it, ya jerk!

athena & b. - I suppose I should cut her some slack on not calling me personally (because her husband is having chemo), but she could've had a staff member do the honors. Especially considering it was good news.

She is always getting up to speed in front of me, I would have a whole lot more confidence in her if she came in to the office ready to say how things are.

Hell, I mean, Heck yeah! I did it this afternoon. I met Adria for lunch and boy was it good - even worth the heartburn.

So does that mean you can have some synthyoid now?! Hoping so. You know you'll feel better--how long will it take to kick in?
have I told you my depression story when I was on the pill?

Sorry to hear about the heartburn.

ew - Yes, I started back on it today. expect to feel some relief with a week or so. But it will take 6 weeks to level out.

No, but tell me about it.

adria - that's what TUMS are for. The food and company were great! Thx.

Somehow I doubt a doctor would speak to a male patient that way. Is it any wonder women avoid doctors? That's good news about your results, but yeah with something this serious, you're smart to get a second opinion.

Well, if you didn't have the courage to switch doctors before, that oughta do it! I am so sorry! But, I am soooo happy for you that this ordeal is over and the results of the testing were good!! Yeah!!

that's true that she could've had her receptionist call you with the news. and yes, that didn't sound like a very nice thing for her to say to you (about being hypo and crabby) you would've thought she had known better seeing that her own husband was going through something similar. sigh.
